Scarborough Health Network and SHN Foundation are closely monitoring the global outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), and actively engaging in protective measures across our health network to protect our community.
The safety and well-being of our patients, families, physicians, staff and community is our top priority.
To help reduce community spread of COVID-19 in Scarborough and beyond, and to ensure our hospitals can remain solely focused on serving our patients, SHN Foundation will close offices located at our General and Centenary hospitals effective immediately. Staff will work remotely, conducting virtual or phone meetings wherever possible.
In addition, the Foundation has cancelled or postponed our upcoming events until the end of June 2020, including Brave T.O. This decision is in line with public health guidelines to avoid large gatherings and meetings, and is consistent with the actions of other hospitals and foundations.
For the latest information about COVID-19 and how to protect yourself and your families, visit www.shn.ca/covid-19. We will continue to monitor this situation and update you on new developments as they arise.
Thank you to all of our generous donors, volunteers and event participants for your continued support of SHN Foundation as we help to shape the future of care in Scarborough.
Along with everyone across the health network, we also want to express our thanks and appreciation to SHN’s exceptional physicians, nurses, medical staff and support staff. These individuals are on the front lines every day to care for our patients, at great personal risk to themselves, and we are incredibly grateful for the brave work they do to keep our community healthy.
We remain grateful for donor support that provides these physicians and staff with the tools they need to care for the community, and gifts can still be made either online or via mail – please visit https://shnfoundation.ca/ways-to-give/ for more details.
